We take the protection of your data seriously. This website works without cookies, without analytics tools and without embedded third-party content. Below we inform you about the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data.

Server log files

The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files which your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address.

These data are not combined with other sources. Collection takes place on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and the security of its website.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies for analytics or advertising purposes. No visitor statistics are collected, no profiles are created and no data are passed to third parties.

Only your choice between light and dark mode is stored in your browser’s local storage. This entry never leaves your device and permits no conclusions about you personally. You can delete it at any time through your browser settings.

Fonts and external content

The typeface used is delivered from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other provider. No maps, videos, social media elements or other third-party content are embedded.

Contact form and e-mail

The enquiry form on this website transmits no data to our server. It composes an e-mail from your entries and hands it to your own e-mail program. Only when you send that e-mail do your details reach us.

We process the transmitted data in order to deal with your enquiry on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent). We store them until the purpose no longer applies or you ask us to delete them; statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Booking data

If a booking is made we process the main tenant’s data required to perform the contract: name, address, telephone, e-mail, travel dates, number of adults, children and dogs, the payments received and, for the final statement, meter readings and any extras booked.

For the registration of the stay with the French authorities (registration form, “fiche individuelle de police”) we collect the main tenant’s date of birth, place of birth and nationality, and the name, date of birth, place of birth and nationality of those travelling with them; details of children are optional. The same form records each dog’s name, breed, microchip number and the expiry date of its rabies vaccination. The details of fellow travellers and dogs are filled in on the form on arrival and are not stored in our management software.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR (legal obligation).

Management software

We manage bookings with our own password-protected management software. It runs at Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Workers with the Cloudflare D1 database); the database is kept in a data centre in Europe. Cloudflare processes the booking data on our behalf as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR.

Storage period

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept until they have been dealt with or until you ask us to delete them. Booking, contract and accounting records are kept for as long as tax and commercial retention rules require (usually six to ten years) and deleted afterwards. Registration forms are kept only for as long as French regulations require.

Hosting

The website and the management software run at Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare processes the connection data mentioned above and – in the management software – the booking data. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; standard contractual clauses under Art. 46 GDPR apply in addition. Further information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

Your rights

You have the right at any time to obtain free information about your stored personal data, their origin and recipients and the purpose of the processing (Art. 15 GDPR), as well as a right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR).

You may withdraw consent given at any time with effect for the future. Simply contact info@ferienhauskranich.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

SSL encryption

For security reasons this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address bar changing from “http://” to “https://”.
