Dogs
At Maison les Grues there is no limit. At La Benoîterie we normally take up to four dogs; more by arrangement. Just tell us how many are coming when you enquire.
No. We make no surcharge for dogs – whatever their number or size.
Yes. At Maison les Grues the 4,500 m² plot is enclosed all round to a height of 1.80 m. At La Benoîterie it is 1.40 to 1.60 m with dense hedges in addition. Please still judge for yourself whether the height is enough for your dogs – some jump remarkably well.
On the sofa gladly; dog blankets are provided. We ask you to bring your own blankets for the beds and to keep the furniture clean.
Dog beds (seven of them at Maison les Grues), bowls, waste bags and dog blankets. At Maison les Grues there is also a stainless-steel dog shower with a ramp, clippers and a dog dryer.
On most beaches of the Cotentin, yes. In high season local lead requirements or time restrictions apply. Dogs are generally not allowed in museums, on war cemeteries or in nature reserves.
Accommodation and equipment
Both houses have two bedrooms with a double bed each and are designed for up to four guests. Children are welcome.
A fully equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher, coffee machine and kettle; washing machine or washer-dryer and a tumble dryer; Wi-Fi; smart TV; fireplace; barbecue and garden furniture. Maison les Grues also has a barrel sauna, a conservatory and underfloor heating.
Yes, both houses are non-smoking.
Yes. Maison les Grues has a covered carport for two vehicles; La Benoîterie has a parking space in the yard.
You can book bed linen and towels with us or bring your own. Let us know when you enquire and we will have everything ready.
Booking and payment
Most easily via the enquiry form or by e-mail to info@ferienhauskranich.com. You will then hear back about availability and receive the rental contract.
We let by the week, Saturday to Saturday. Arrival from 5 pm, departure by 9 am.
30 % of the rent within one week of booking. The balance is due six weeks before arrival. For late bookings the full amount is payable immediately.
€300 per stay. It is transferred before arrival and repaid after departure, less the actual cost of electricity and water and of any extras booked, such as bed linen or towels.
The conditions are set out in the rental contract. Please talk to us early – the sooner we know, the more likely we are to find a solution.
Prices and extra costs
Between €650 and €1,400 per week, depending on the house and the season. The full price tables for 2026 to 2028 are on the prices page.
Maison les Grues: Final cleaning, Wi-Fi, Tourist tax, Firewood for the fireplace, Firewood for the sauna and Gas for the cooker. La Benoîterie: Final cleaning, Wi-Fi, Tourist tax and Firewood for the fireplace. And your dogs: we charge nothing extra for them.
Electricity at €0.40 per kWh and water at €3.00 per m³, charged by actual consumption. Meters are read on arrival and departure.
After departure you receive a written statement. The remaining balance of the security deposit is transferred, normally within two weeks.
Location and getting here
Maison les Grues is near Picauville, ten minutes from Sainte-Mère-Église. La Benoîterie lies in a hamlet near Saint-Jores, about ten minutes further south. Both are in the Manche département in Normandy.
By car. From the Rhine-Main area it is around 900 kilometres. Detailed directions are sent with the booking confirmation.
Yes. Supermarkets, bakeries and weekly markets can be found within 5 to 15 kilometres.
An EU pet passport with a valid rabies vaccination and a microchip. Special rules apply in France to category 1 and 2 dogs. Please check the current requirements before you travel.
